Stonehenge
Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire, England. It consists of a ring of standing stones, each around 13 feet high, seven feet wide, and weighing around 25 tons. The stones are set within earthworks in the middle of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred tumuli (burial mounds).
The site is believed to have been constructed between 3000 and 2000 BC and remains a mystery as to its exact purpose. Some theories suggest it was used for religious ceremonies, astronomical observations, or as a burial site. Stonehenge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts millions of visitors each year who marvel at its ancient beauty.
